Thirteen millimetres. That's the entire budget for the MagSafe Card Wallet — about the thickness of two stacked credit cards and a promise.
Everything inside had to earn its place.
The stack
Open the wallet and you're looking at a cross-section of compromises that didn't feel like compromises:
- Microfiber vegan leather shell — soft touch, cruelty-free, and so close to real leather your fingers won't know the difference.
- RFID shielding layer — a thin metallic fabric that kills skimmers dead. Tap your wallet on a reader all day; your cards stay silent.
- Card bay for three — cards ride in at 13mm depth with a thumb notch, so the top card slides out with one push.
- Hidden mirror — because the inside of a case is the most honest mirror you own.
- Electroplated golden edges — a detail you'll notice every single time you pull it from your pocket.
The kickstand problem
A kickstand adds moving parts, and moving parts add thickness. Ours is a rigid panel with a tuned hinge angle — folded flat it's a wall; opened it's a stand that holds your phone upright in portrait or landscape.
No spring to wear out. No flap to dangle. It clicks, it holds, it disappears.
What we left out
- No card window that stretches after a month.
- No magnetic clasp that scratches the screen.
- No logo plate adding half a millimetre for branding's sake.
Restraint is the feature. Every gram and every millimetre we didn't spend is thickness you never feel.
The number that matters
Thirteen millimetres, three cards, one mirror, one stand, zero compromise. Engineering isn't about what you add — it's about what survives the cutting room floor.
